October 1st, 2013 - MRI welcomes Filippo Grosoli to their team

Filippo Grosoli has been hired as training and test pilot for National and International Programs. During his 22 years of service in the Italian Air Force, Mr. Grosoli accumulated more than 4000 flying hours. He has been part of several exchange programs and finished his career as Senior National Representative for the IAF at Holloman A.F.B. as well as MQ-9 Instructor / Evaluator Pilot for the US Air Force in the same location. Mr. Grosoli brings a wealth of experience which can be utilized across many of our existing programs. MRI is excited to add Mr. Grosoli to our growing family of accomplished professionals!!

September 25th, 2013 - Airport cooperative research program - study on impact of commercial unmanned arial esystems on airports

Merlin RAMCo, Inc, a privately held Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) with core competencies in all aspects of Manned and Unmanned Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance systems support, was recently awarded a sub-contract to provide Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Subject Matter Expert (SME) support to the Transportation Research Board for the Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP). MRI will be conducting site surveys of several airports and reporting on the impact caused by operating commercial Unmanned Aerial Vehicles at airports also being utilized by commercial manned aircraft. This contract highlights MRI’s vision to remain on the cutting edge of present and future requirements in the world of unmanned aircraft.

September 16TH, 2013 - MRI is delighted to announce the hiring of our new Director of Business Development Rich Hartlaub

Mr. Hartlaub brings an extremely diverse background with more than 24 years of experience in business development, DOD and NASA operations as well as exercise and training. He continues to serve in the Air National Guard as a reconnaissance duty officer in support of USAFRICOM.

August 17th, 2013 - MRI at AUVSI in Washington, D.C.

In 1972 the Association of Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) was established for the use of target drones as reconnaissance assets during the Vietnam War. A group of U.S. Air Force officers and contractors in Dayton Ohio then formed the National Association of Remotely Piloted Vehicles (NARPV) which later became known as AUVSI. By the end of this war the unmanned systems technology had proven its capabilities and industry growth thrived to new heights. The mission of AUVSI is to promote and support the unmanned community through communication, education and leadership. AUVSI serves more than 7000 members from 60 countries. AUVSI keeps its members up to date on all the latest trends in unmanned systems. Annually AUVSI sponsors a number of international conferences and student competitions.

This year the 2013 AUVSI North America conference, which is the largest unmanned systems event in the world, was held in Washington D.C. August 12-15. Merlin RAMCo sent Bob Miller, Brian Raduenz and the Business Development team: Mike Lock, Mike Rudney, Andy Hayes and Kim Underwood to support and man the MRI booth. Next year this big event will take place in Orlando FL May 12-15 2014.

July 23rd, 2013 - Big Safari Reunion

Big Safari Reunion - Bob Miller, Brian Raduenz and Kim Underwood attended the Big Safari Reunion held July 19-23, 2013 in Colorado Springs, CO.  The Big Safari Program continues into its 61st year and the program is as viable today as it was in the early 1950’s. Big Safari was established during the height of the Cold War to provide very quick reaction modifications and sustainment of the one of a kind or small fleets of uniquely modified, highly classified aircraft they support. Very little has changed from its original charter as the legacy continues supporting our country’s Global War on Terrorism.

The event concluded with a banquet featuring Keynote Speaker the Honorable Sue Payton.  Mrs. Payton is the Former Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, Former Deputy Under Secretary of Defense and currently President – SCI Aerospace Inc. Mrs. Payton gave a very uplifting speech supporting Big Safari Programs and the positive difference they have been and are making for the war-fighters.

July 1st, 2013 - Royal Saudi Air Force Personnel

MRI successfully deployed the first team of employees into Saudi Arabia on July 22nd. Stephen McIlnay (C-130 Instructor Pilot), Michael Todd Miller (F-15S Instructor Pilot), Patrick Hann (C-130 Loadmaster), and Comer Louis Carter (C-130 Flight Engineer), along with our subcontractor companies, are supporting the modernization of the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF)

May 1ST, 2013 - MRI is proud to announce the hiring of retired Major General David J. Scott

DaveScott Mr. Scott has been hired as the Vice President of International Programs and will also be the Program manager for the Saudi Support Program, supporting the training and modernization of the Royal Saudi Air Force. During his 35 plus years of service in the United States Air Force, Mr. Scott amassed more than 3000 flying hours and finished his career as the director, operations, strategic deterrence, and nuclear integration, Headquarters U.S. Air Forces in Europe. MRI is excited to add Mr. Scott to our growing family!!
